Standardized routine maintenance of CTP equipment can extend the life of CTP, reduce equipment failures, improve production stability, and make dot accurate restoration, thus improving printing quality.

Overview of Kodak plate making machine

According to the author's years of experience, the use of Kodak CTP equipment should at least achieve the following routine maintenance.

I. Make maintenance records at ordinary times

II. Regularly replace the intake filter element

Regularly replace the filter element, so that the laser head and other equipment can work at the appropriate temperature, and avoid excessive internal temperature of the equipment. If the temperature is too high, the life of the laser head will be reduced, and the aging of internal components will also be accelerated. It is recommended to replace it every two to three months;

III. Regularly replace the filter element of compressed air supply

The compressed air filter element is the last line of defense for the compressed air entering the CTP. If the filter element is too yellow or too wet, it means that the filter element has lost its filtering effect. Please replace it in time, otherwise it will cause damage to the laser head and the pneumatic components inside the CTP;

IV. Clean the platen roller regularly

The platen pressing roller is the only part of the equipment that can contact the entire plate surface. If the wiping frequency is not enough, it will cause bad spots, scratches and other damages to the plate film surface. Because the surface of the platen roller often sticks to the aluminum chips on the surface of the plate and the dust on the paper. It is better to wipe once a week;

V. Regularly clean the edge detection strip

The edge detection strip is used by the laser head to detect the edge of the plate. If it is not wiped for a long time, the image will be inaccurate. It is recommended to wipe it every three months;
